This is by far one of the best purchases we have made for our new home.

When you figure out how much time you spend in your family room, comfortable seating is a quality of life game changer. This sofa is that for us. It not only looks amazing but is beyond comfortable. And the bells and whistles additional features add to that in a big way.

We've been customers for over 10 years and have never been disappointed.

The team is knowledgeable, the seats are luxurious, and the service is second to none. Our home theater is exactly what we dreamed of and the quality has held up beautifully over the years.

From browsing online to delivery, the entire experience was first class.

My family couldn't be happier with our new theater chairs. The delivery team was professional, setup was seamless, and the seats are incredibly comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone upgrading their home theater.

A theater couch is a sofa or loveseat built for movie nights, with seats that recline individually and cup holders and charging built in - one connected piece, so you sit together instead of in separate chairs. This collection gathers Seatcraft and Cavallo theater couches, loveseats, sets and sectionals that turn a spare room into your own private cinema.

What's the best home theater couch for your room?

The best home theater couch fits your wall with room to recline, and lets each person adjust their own seat. Past that, the right shape comes down to how the room gets used.

For most family rooms, a 3-seat sofa keeps everyone together. The Seatcraft Republic, for example, is a wallhugger with power recline, hidden in-arm storage and a fold-down center table, built to work fully reclined with only about 6" of clearance behind it. Couples and smaller dens often do better with a loveseat, like the Seatcraft Anthem Loveseat, which keeps the shared feel without giving up individual recline and headrest control.

Need more room? Step up to a sofa-and-loveseat set, or go modular with a reclining sectional that wraps a corner for extra guests. Our sectional sofa buying guide walks through sizing and layout if you're deciding between a straight sofa and an L- or U-shape.

Theater sofa or recliner row - which fits your room?

A theater sofa seats two or three people side by side in one connected piece, which suits shared lounging and rooms that double as everyday living space. A recliner row joins individual seats, usually with armrests between them, for buyers who each want their own space and their own controls.

Plenty of rooms use both: a row of 3 theater recliners up front with back row seating behind it, or a sofa in the family room and a full row in the basement theater. If you watch with kids, pets or a partner who likes to lean in, the sofa wins. If you host movie nights for guests who each want their own armrest, a row usually fits better.

How to choose a home theater couch

Start with the wall, then decide how you want to sit, then add the features you'll actually use.

1. Size it to the wall

Measure the wall and the path into the room first. Check your doorways, hallways and stairwells too, and call the design line with delivery questions.

Sofa390–126"Most family media rooms

2. Pick the recline and support

Most sofas and loveseats in this collection have power recline. Step up to a power headrest and power lumbar (Colosseum, Endeavour) or zero gravity recline on the HeatZero sofas if long movie or gaming sessions are the norm in your house. Prefer a lever instead of a button? The Niagara also comes in a manual-recline version.

3. Choose extras and upholstery

Many models add heat and massage, a few add SoundShaker immersive audio, storage consoles between the seats, USB and wireless charging, and LED cupholders or base lighting - though not every feature is on every design, so check the individual product page before you order. Upholstery runs from Italian and top-grain leather to leather gel (Omega) and fabric, so you can match the rest of the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

The best home theater couch fits your wall with room to recline and has seats that recline individually. It should also keep drinks, remotes and phones within reach. For everyday family use, power recline with a power headrest covers most needs. If you regularly watch long films or play long gaming sessions, heat and massage, zero gravity recline or SoundShaker immersive audio are worth adding.

If your household watches together most nights, usually yes. A theater sofa adds what a standard couch lacks: individual recline, cup holders, storage, charging and lighting you can find in the dark. Measure the path to a basement or upstairs room before you order, and request sample swatches (available for many upholstery options) so you can judge the upholstery in your own light.

The 2/3 rule is a common interior-design guideline: a sofa should span about two-thirds of the wall behind it. On a 12-foot (144") wall, that works out to roughly 96", which falls in the 90–126" range for a 3-seat theater sofa. Leave space at each end for walkways or side tables, and allow clearance behind for the recline.

Theater couches usually arrive curbside, so measure your doorways, hallways and stairwells first and call 1-800-407-8665 with delivery questions. Curbside shipping is free on these sofas and sectionals. If you'd rather not move it yourself, white-glove delivery is available as an add-on. Qualifying in-stock seats ordered before 2pm PST can ship within 24 hours.

This collection includes Italian leather (Anthem, Republic, Vienna and most HeatZero sofas), top-grain leather (Vibrato, Tuscany), leather gel (Omega) and fabric (Heavenly, Fortuna). The Niagara's upholstery depends on the material you choose; see the options on its product page. Available colors vary by model. Sample swatches, available for many upholstery options, let you compare feel and color at home before you order, and our design line at 1-800-407-8665 can help you match colors to the rest of the room.

Yes. The Seatcraft Colosseum and Octavius Big & Tall models come as a sofa, a loveseat or a sofa-and-loveseat set. Both have power recline, a power headrest, power lumbar and USB charging, and the Colosseum adds a memory button. Check each product page for seat width and weight capacity, or call 1-800-407-8665 to confirm fit.
