Home theater columns frame a screen wall or flank your seating area and give a media room the look of a classic cinema. This collection holds six SoundRight home theater columns, from a round Classic column to an art-deco Emperor and an Audio Theater Column with embedded speakers. Every one comes in 8, 9 and 10 foot heights.
Home Theater Columns in Round, Square and Art-Deco Styles
The SoundRight Classic Home Theater Column is a round column in the style of movie theaters of an earlier era. The SoundRight Techno Round Column divides a rounded column into three sections with highlighted accents for a two-tone look, in 18 colors. The SoundRight Techno Square Column has three-section block construction in a rectangular shape, in 21 colors.
For a cleaner line, the SoundRight Contemporary Home Theater Column is a streamlined rectangle in 18 solid colors. The SoundRight Emperor Home Theater Column adds an art-deco look: sharp angles set against a rounded insert, in 21 colors. Most of the product pages describe the columns in passion suede, a suede-textured fabric.
Choose Columns That Fit Your Ceiling Height
Each column comes in 8, 9 and 10 foot sizes so you can match the height of your ceiling. Measure from floor to ceiling at the spot where each column will stand, since floors and ceilings aren't always level. The Contemporary column also has an adjustable crown that moves up or down 2 inches to sit snug against the ceiling.
Theater Columns With Built-In Speakers
The SoundRight Audio Theater Column has speakers discreetly embedded in a two-tone rectangular design, so the column does the work of a separate speaker. Connecting those speakers to your receiver, and any wiring behind the wall, is a job for a licensed electrician or your contractor. Plan the speaker positions before you finalize column locations.
How to Choose Home Theater Columns
1. Pick a shape and style
| Column | Look | Colors listed |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | Round, classic cinema design | See product page |
| Techno Round | Rounded, three sections, two-tone accents | 18 |
| Techno Square | Rectangular, three-section block | 21 |
| Contemporary | Streamlined rectangle, adjustable crown | 18 solid colors |
| Emperor | Art-deco angles with a rounded insert | 21 |
| Audio Theater Column | Two-tone rectangle with embedded speakers | See product page |
2. Pick a height
Choose 8, 9 or 10 feet based on your measured floor-to-ceiling height. If your ceiling falls between sizes or isn't level, call the design team before ordering.
3. Plan the room around them
Decide where columns go relative to your screen, speakers and seating. If a column will sit near wiring, lighting or a ceiling feature, a licensed electrician or contractor should advise on the work, and your building department can tell you what local rules apply.
