This is by far one of the best purchases we have made for our new home.

When you figure out how much time you spend in your family room, comfortable seating is a quality of life game changer. This sofa is that for us. It not only looks amazing but is beyond comfortable. And the bells and whistles additional features add to that in a big way.

We've been customers for over 10 years and have never been disappointed.

The team is knowledgeable, the seats are luxurious, and the service is second to none. Our home theater is exactly what we dreamed of and the quality has held up beautifully over the years.

From browsing online to delivery, the entire experience was first class.

My family couldn't be happier with our new theater chairs. The delivery team was professional, setup was seamless, and the seats are incredibly comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone upgrading their home theater.

A movie theater recliner is a single Seatcraft seat built for home theaters, not living rooms, with power recline, lighted cupholders and a zero-gravity option on CoolZero™ models. Every single shares its models and colors with a matching row, so it can start a row, add a seat you own, fill a corner, or stand alone as a reading chair.

What makes Seatcraft single recliners different

Every Seatcraft single is built around a feature set you choose, not a one-size chair. Compare recline style, heat and massage, audio, storage and fit below, then see how singles fit into a room that may grow into a full row.

CoolZero™ zero-gravity comfort

CoolZero™ single recliners such as the Apex, Monterey, Diamante, Kodiak and Equinox add a zero-gravity recline position, which raises your legs to roughly heart level and spreads your weight more evenly across the seat instead of concentrating it on your lower back.

SoundShaker® immersive audio

SoundShaker seats use a built-in transducer that vibrates the chair in sync with your movie's soundtrack, so explosions and bass lines are felt as well as heard. Check the product page or call our design team to confirm what your setup needs.

Heat & massage

Luminis, Virtuoso, Caliente, Valore and Paladin singles add heat and air massage on top of the base recline. Settings are adjustable, for spa-style comfort features you can dial up during a long movie night or dial back for everyday use.

Storage, lighting & charging

In-arm storage, fold-down tray tables, LED cupholders, base lighting and USB charging appear across most singles, so snacks, remotes and phones all have a place within reach of the seat.

Fit: wallhugger, spacesaver & Big & Tall

Most singles use a wallhugger mechanism, which needs only about 6–7" of clearance behind the seat to recline fully. Spacesaver models such as the Napa, Sienna and 12006 use a slimmer armrest for narrow rooms, and Big & Tall singles like the Pantheon and Julius use a wider, taller frame sized for viewers who find most chairs too short or too narrow.

Colors & finishes

Singles are offered in the same Italian leather or leather gel finishes and the same color range as our matching theater rows, so a single recliner and a row of the same model are built from the same catalog of options. If you're adding a seat to a row you already own, call 1-800-407-8665 with your model and color before ordering to confirm the closest match.

What is the difference between a theater recliner and a regular recliner?

A theater recliner is designed to sit in a row facing a screen, while a regular recliner is designed to stand on its own in a living room, and that one difference shapes almost every detail of the chair. Most theater recliners use a wallhugger mechanism that needs only about 6–7" of rear clearance instead of tipping back into the wall, and the arms carry what a movie night needs: lighted cupholders, in-arm storage, tray tables and USB charging on many models. Theater recliners are also built to join rows. Because each Seatcraft single shares its model, colors and styling with a matching row, one recliner can become the first seat of a full home theater, and you can add seats in the same model as your room grows, from a single reading chair to a full tiered row.

Should you buy a single recliner or start with a row?

If two or more people will watch together, a row is usually the better choice: most models come in rows of 2 to 5 seats, plus loveseat and sofa configurations. Choose a single when you want to:

  • Start with one seat now and build a row later
  • Add a seat to a row you already own
  • Fill a corner or the end of a riser
  • Set up a reading or gaming chair in a den or bedroom

How to choose a single theater recliner

Recline style

Classic power recline suits most viewers. CoolZero™ models add zero-gravity recline for a more neutral, legs-up position.

Fit and clearance

Wallhugger singles need about 6–7" behind the seat to recline fully. Spacesaver models use slimmer arms, and Big & Tall singles are sized for larger frames.

Frequently Asked Questions

Comfort is personal, but for long movie sessions look for support from head to feet, a power recline you can stop at any position, and adjustable head support. Zero-gravity models raise your legs into a neutral position, and heat and massage models add warmth and massage. If you are near La Habra, CA, sit-test seats at our showroom before you decide.

Price depends on the upholstery (leather gel or Italian leather), the recline type and the features you add, such as heat and massage, zero-gravity recline, a powered headrest or SoundShaker audio. Current pricing is on each product page, and our design team at 1-800-407-8665 can help you compare a single recliner against a full row.

Our single recliners come in the same models and color options as our theater rows, so adding a matching seat is a common reason to buy one. Call 1-800-407-8665 with your model and color before ordering.

The main trade-offs are floor space and power. A reclined seat needs open floor in front for the footrest, and power models need access to an outlet. Wallhugger designs solve the rear-clearance problem, needing only about 6–7" behind the seat.

No. Seatcraft's Italian leather is hand-picked from the top 30% of hides and, with simple maintenance, improves with age. Follow the care steps on our materials page. If you want the look of leather at a strong value, leather gel models like the 12006 are worth comparing, and free material samples let you feel both first.

SoundShaker technology uses a built-in transducer that vibrates the seat in sync with the on-screen action. Some models require a SoundShaker amplifier to run it. Check the product page or call 1-800-407-8665 to confirm what your setup needs.
