Home theater carpet gives a movie room a floor that matches the screen wall. This collection has 20 Joy theater carpets, each a broadloom (carpet sold off a roll) in a patterned design such as Admit One, Deco Ticket, Camera Ready or Curtain Call. If you're comparing theater carpet, movie theater carpet or media room carpet, the details below cover the fiber, pile, roll sizes and pattern repeats.
Movie Theater Carpet Patterns for a Home Theater
The patterns include Admit One, Deco Ticket, Camera Ready, Feature Film, Curtain Call, Blockbuster and Hollywood Graffiti, along with Galaxy, Astro Jam, Acanthus, Corinth, Damascus, Antique Scroll and Fleur De Lis. Colors listed on the product pages include black, blue, red, burgundy, brown, ruby and plum.
Home Theater Carpet Fiber, Pile and Backing
All 20 carpets list the same construction: 100% STAINMASTER® nylon, a 0.36" pile height, Actionbac® backing, and a broadloom shape. The product pages list them for residential or commercial use. They belong to the Any Day Matinee collection from Joy Carpets. For care, follow the manufacturer's care guidance, or ask the design team where to find it.
Roll Sizes, Seams and Pattern Repeats
Every carpet here is 13'6" wide and is ordered by roll length, from 13'6" x 15' (203 sq. ft) up to 13'6" x 55' (743 sq. ft). If your room is longer or wider than 13'6", the product pages say to order the roll length you need plus one pattern length repeat, which gives you an allowance to line up the pattern at the seam. They also say to consider riser heights when you measure.
A pattern repeat is the size of one full cycle of the design. Repeats in this collection run from 13.5" x 13.5" up to 81" x 81".
Theater Room Carpet and Risers
If your room has a raised back row, measure the floor and the riser separately. SoundRight home theater risers come with carpeting on the sides and top, which you can see on their product pages, so ask the design team how you'd like the carpet and riser surfaces to meet.
How to Choose Home Theater Carpet
1. Pick a pattern scale
Small repeats read as texture, and large repeats read as a statement. The table groups all 20 carpets by pattern repeat.
| Pattern repeat | Carpets |
|---|---|
| 13.5" x 13.5" | Fleur De Lis, Eclipse |
| 18" x 18" | Fort Wood, Curtain Call, Corinth |
| 18" x 24" | Damascus |
| 40.5" x 40.5" | Contrarian, Dottie, Feature Film, Deco Ticket, Acanthus, Deco Strobe, Antique Scroll, Camera Ready, Astro Jam, Bryant Park, Blockbuster, Admit One |
| 81" x 81" | Galaxy, Hollywood Graffiti |
2. Measure your room and your risers
A room 12' wide and 18' long fits within a 13'6" x 18' roll (243 sq. ft). If a wall is longer than 13'6", plan for a seam and add one pattern repeat to the roll length. Measure risers into the plan too.
3. Pick a color
Each carpet is listed in one color on its product page, so choosing the pattern also chooses the color. Look at your seating, walls and curtains before you decide.
