Multimedia sectionals are home theater sectionals: sofas and corner pieces with chaise footrests, matching ottomans and, on some models, consoles or power recline. This collection covers modular sets you build piece by piece (Wilshire, Diamante, Fortuna and Heavenly), Haven and Symphony lounge sectionals with dual chaises, and power models such as the Seatcraft Cadence and Seatcraft Carlsbad Multimedia Sectionals.
Multimedia Home Theater Sectionals
A home theater sectional is a sofa built for screen time: deep seating, chaise footrests and a layout that keeps everyone on one connected piece. A row of theater seats gives each person a separate seat and recline instead, so if that is what you want, start with our home theater seating collection. You may see these pieces called a movie couch, a media sofa or a theater sectional; they are the same kind of furniture. Sizes run from 104" lounge sofas to 12-piece U-shaped pit sectionals, so the same families work in a dedicated theater, a media room or a living room that doubles as one.
What Makes Our Multimedia Sectionals Special?
Four things set this collection apart from an ordinary living room sectional: modular layouts, chaise-style comfort, a choice of fabric or Italian leather, and power recline on select models. The sections below take them one at a time.
Flexible Layouts
The modular lines let you build L-shaped, U-shaped and straight layouts from corner, armless and ottoman pieces. Wilshire lists 5-, 6-, 7-, 8- and 12-piece configurations, Diamante and Fortuna list 6-, 7-, 8- and 12-piece sets, and Heavenly lists 6-, 8- and 9-piece sets. For one straight run, the Wilshire Home Theater Modular Chaise Sofa comes as a row of 2, 3 or 4 at 85", 124" and 163" wide, and the Fortuna row of 2 is 78" wide. Measure your wall and your doorways first, and keep the piece list from the product page next to your floor plan.
Comfort-Driven Design
Comfort differs by line, so read each Specifications tab. Wilshire, Diamante and Fortuna are chaise-position modular sets with 2.2 high-density foam and no recline mechanism listed. The power models add recline you control with a button. The Seatcraft Cadence and the Haven dual chaise lounge list power recline, an adjustable power headrest and adjustable power lumbar (a pad you can move to change how the lower back is supported), while the Seatcraft Carlsbad and the Solis FX L-Sectional list power recline with a power headrest. Power models plug into a standard 110v wall outlet, and each seat may need its own outlet, so ask a licensed electrician if you need to add one.
Upholstery Materials: Fabric and Italian Leather
Fabric choices include the Heavenly lines (listed as stain-resistant, water-repellent fabric in Onyx or Chocolate), Fortuna in Ash or Onyx, and Haven and Symphony in Aria Onyx / Dove performance fabric. Italian leather appears on Wilshire, Diamante, Cadence, Solis FX and the leather Haven and Symphony versions, with colors that include Black, Gray, Red, Smokey Blue, Tawny and Tobacco depending on the model. Tuscany lists top grain leather, and Carlsbad uses leather gel, a different material from Italian leather. The Niagara's upholstery depends on the material you choose; see the options on the product page. Sample swatches are available for many upholstery options.
Frame, Foam and Springs
Wilshire, Diamante and Fortuna pair 2.2 high-density foam with pocketed sinuous coiled springs, which are designed to resist premature foam breakdown, in a kiln-dried wood frame. The Heavenly lines list feather and fiber cushion fill with sinuous S-springs. Wilshire and Diamante list 450 lbs. per seat, while Cadence, Carlsbad and Haven list 350 lbs. per seat, so check the model you choose. Seatcraft seating carries a 1-year limited warranty, and the optional Guardian 5-Year Protection Plan extends Seatcraft seating to 5 years.
Purchase and Delivery
4Seating ships anywhere in the continental US, and free shipping applies to sectionals and sofas. Truck deliveries are curbside unless you arrange white-glove delivery, an add-on that a local agent schedules, and transit times are estimates. Measure the doorways, hallways and stairs on the delivery path before you order, and ask the design team if you are unsure about a piece.
How to Choose Home Theater Sectionals
1. Pick a style
The sectionals here fall into four groups. The table shows what each adds, using the product data.
| Style | What it adds | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Modular piece sets | Corner, armless and ottoman pieces in 5- to 12-piece sets with a chaise position | Wilshire L-Shaped (6- and 7-piece), Diamante U Shaped Sectional Pit (6-, 8- and 12-piece), Fortuna L-Sectional (6- and 7-piece) |
| Dual chaise lounge sectionals | Straight sofas with two chaise footrests, available as 104", 120" and 132" lounge sofas, with an optional ottoman on some | Haven Media Room Sectional Sofa with Chaise, Symphony Chaise Lounge Home Theater Sofa |
| Power sectionals | Power recline with an adjustable power headrest; some add power lumbar, USB charging or storage consoles | Seatcraft Cadence, Seatcraft Carlsbad, Solis FX L-Sectional |
| Console rows | Rows of 2, 3 or 4 with consoles between the seats | Diamante Modular Home Theater Sofa Console Table, Seatcraft Niagara Italian Leather Sofa, Power Recline |
2. Pick a layout and measure
An L-shape suits a corner, a U-shape or pit fills the middle of a room, and a straight sofa or row sits against one wall. A pit couch, also called a pit sofa, is the U-shaped pit sectional: 6- to 12-piece sets (Wilshire, Diamante, Fortuna and Heavenly) with a chaise position you sink into. Where a model reclines, leave room behind it: the Seatcraft Cadence and Solis FX list about 5" from the wall for full recline, the Seatcraft Carlsbad 4.5" and the Niagara 3", according to their Specifications tabs. Rows with consoles run wider than rows without; the Niagara row of 3 with two consoles is 144", against 124" for a Wilshire row of 3.
3. Pick upholstery and features
Decide on power or no power first, because it changes the model list. Then choose fabric or Italian leather, and request sample swatches before you commit to a color.
