Looking for theater seats for sale with a real cinema look for your audience? This collection of Seatcraft movie seats comes in rows of two to six, on free-standing or bolt-down bases, in vinyl, fabric or polyurethane. It suits home cinemas, screening rooms and small venues that want classic theater rows instead of recliners.
How to choose commercial theater seating
Base type
Free-standing (EZ base) seats need no floor drilling: the bases connect into a row and stabilize the chairs on their own. Bolt-down seats anchor to the floor for a permanent install, the traditional way theaters set up fixed rows.
Upholstery
Vinyl (Montago, Madrigal, Maximus) wipes clean and suits snack-heavy rooms. Fabric (Zenith, Mirage, Vanguard) gives a softer, traditional auditorium feel. The Britton is black polyurethane.
Seat style
Rocker models lean back for a better viewing angle, and on the Montago, Zenith and Madrigal a gravity-lift mechanism lifts the seat back up when you stand, just like at the cinema. The Mirage has a fixed back.
| Model | Base | Upholstery and colors | Standout feature |
|---|---|---|---|
| Montago | Free-standing or bolt-down | Black vinyl | Rocker back, gravity-lift seat, flip-up arms, large cupholders |
| Zenith | Free-standing or bolt-down | Black fabric | Montago-style rocker in fabric |
| Madrigal | Free-standing or bolt-down | Black, blue or red vinyl | Classic diamond-stitch pattern |
| Mirage | Bolt-down | Red or black fabric | Fixed back, cold-molded foam, easy-clean outer back and seat pan |
| Maximus | Bolt-down | Black or red/black vinyl | Sculpted back, retractable arms |
| Vanguard | Bolt-down | Red/black or black fabric | Ergonomically sculpted back |
| Britton | Black polyurethane | True rocker (10° swing), swivel tray table with cupholder on each seat |
What are the different types of theater seating?
Theater seating generally comes as fixed-back seats, rocker seats that lean back a few degrees, recliners, and tiered rows raised on risers. Those are the styles that make up most auditorium seating today. This collection covers fixed-back seats like the Mirage, rockers like the Montago, Zenith, Madrigal and Britton, and 2- and 3-row riser packages built around the Montago and Madrigal.
Free-standing or bolt-down: which do you need?
Choose free-standing if you can't drill the floor or may move the row later. Choose bolt-down for a permanent install in a dedicated room.
Free-standing theater seats, listed at 4Seating as EZ base models, are the easier install for most rooms. Each seat mounts onto a base, the bases connect to one another into a row, and the connected bases hold the chairs steady without being fastened to the floor. That makes them a good fit for finished basements, rented spaces and floors you don't want to damage. Bolt-down theater seats fasten directly to the floor, the traditional way cinemas install fixed rows, and they suit dedicated rooms where the layout won't change. The Montago, Zenith and Madrigal are sold both ways, so you can choose the seat you like first and the base second. The Mirage, Maximus and Vanguard are bolt-down only. Either way, every seat is sold as part of a row of 2 to 6.
Can you use commercial movie theater seats at home?
Yes. The Montago, Zenith and Madrigal were designed to bring a classic cinema experience into the home, and the free-standing versions need no drilling. The Madrigal's diamond-stitch pattern adds a golden-age-of-cinema look to the row. If you'd rather stretch out, compare these with power recliners in all home theater seating.
Need more than one row for your audience?
Choose a riser package. The Montago and Madrigal come in 2-row packages (floor platform plus a 7" riser) and 3-row packages (floor platform, 7" riser and 14" riser with step), with 3 to 6 seats per row. From the diagram on its product page, the Montago 3-row package is 115" deep from front to back (a 23" floor platform, then 46" for the 7" riser and 46" for the 14" riser with step) and 77" wide with 3 seats per row, 106" with 4, 130" with 5 and 154" with 6.
