Movie theater stadium seating means tiered rows. In a stadium seating movie theater, each row sits on a riser so the people behind can see over the people in front. This collection holds Seatcraft stadium movie seat packages that bundle the seats and the risers: the Madrigal and Montago styles, both in vinyl, in 2-row and 3-row sets with 3, 4, 5 or 6 seats per row. The packages sit in our commercial group, so the notes below also cover what to ask before you order for a business or venue.
What Is Stadium Seating for a Movie Room?
Stadium seating is tiered, not curved: the rows step up from front to back. In these packages the 2-row sets use a floor platform and a 7" riser. The 3-row sets use a floor platform, a 7" riser and a 14" riser with a step. The product pages describe the setup as a fit for rooms that need to seat several people in a limited footprint.
Stadium Seats for a Home Theater or Media Room
If you've been searching for home stadium seating, these are the packages to start with: the product descriptions describe them for a home theater or media room, which brings the stadium style seating movie theater audiences know into your own space. The Madrigal and Montago seats have a rocker backrest, which gives a wider range of sitting angles, plus large cupholders and an armrest that flips up. They also use a gravity-lift mechanism, which lifts the seat back up when you sit forward so there's room to move past. The Specifications tab lists a weight capacity of 350 lbs. per seat for the seats in this collection.
Custom Commercial Cinema Seating: Bigger Rows and Venue Layouts
These packages come as 2 or 3 rows of up to 6 seats. If you need longer rows, more rows or a layout for a venue, call the design line at 1-800-407-8665 and we'll go through the options with you. Aisle, accessible seating and fire code requirements differ by location, so check them with your local code official before you settle on a layout.
Row Widths for Commercial Movie Seats
A commercial row of 3 is about 72–78" wide. On the single-row pages, a Madrigal or Montago row of 3 is 74.5". From the diagram on its product page, the Montago 3 Row Riser Package is 77" wide with 3 seats per row, 106" with 4 (two 53" sections), 130" with 5 (a 77" section plus a 53" section) and 154" with 6 (two 77" sections). It is 115" deep from front to back: a 23" floor platform, then 46" for the 7" riser and 46" for the 14" riser with step. For the 2 Row packages, check the product page. Madrigal and Montago seats list an overall height of 42.5" and a footprint of 31" on their Dimensions tabs, so check your ceiling height against the overall height plus the riser.
