This is by far one of the best purchases we have made for our new home.

When you figure out how much time you spend in your family room, comfortable seating is a quality of life game changer. This sofa is that for us. It not only looks amazing but is beyond comfortable. And the bells and whistles additional features add to that in a big way.

We've been customers for over 10 years and have never been disappointed.

The team is knowledgeable, the seats are luxurious, and the service is second to none. Our home theater is exactly what we dreamed of and the quality has held up beautifully over the years.

From browsing online to delivery, the entire experience was first class.

My family couldn't be happier with our new theater chairs. The delivery team was professional, setup was seamless, and the seats are incredibly comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone upgrading their home theater.

Home theater seating with power lumbar lets you adjust the support in the lower back of the seat with a button, so a long movie night doesn't depend on one fixed backrest shape. This collection is theater chairs with power recline, a power headrest and adjustable power lumbar, sold as single recliners or as rows of 2 to 5 seats, with chaise, console and BACKROW versions.

Powered Lumbar Home Theater Seating

Lumbar means the lower back, and power lumbar means a motor adjusts the support there from the seat's controls. These movie theater seats pair it with a power headrest and power recline, so you set the recline, the headrest and the lower-back support separately. Many of the models also add USB charging and LED cupholder or base lighting.

Power recliners plug into a standard 110v wall outlet, and each seat may need its own outlet. If you want to compare theater seats for home that don't have lumbar motors, the full range is in our Home Theater Seating collection.

Featured Power-Lumbar Models

Each model below lists an adjustable power headrest and adjustable power lumbar on its Specifications tab.

1. Pantheon

The Pantheon Italian Leather Big & Tall Home Theater Seating is the largest frame in the collection: a 45" seat height, 72" of full recline and a listed capacity of 400 lbs. per seat. It's a wallhugger that needs 6.5" from the wall to recline fully, and a row of 3 measures 107".

2. Equinox

The Equinox CoolZeroᵀᴹ Italian Leather Home Theater Seating is a slimmer frame (a row of 3 is 100") with a 43" seat height and 350 lbs. per seat. It also comes as a BACKROW version, a chaise version and a single recliner.

3. Virtuoso

The Virtuoso Zero Gravity Home Theater Seating with Heat & Massage adds heat and massage to power lumbar and the power headrest, in Italian Leather. A row of 3 is 102".

4. Apex

Apex is the series with the most layouts here: straight rows, chaise rows, console table rows, wedge console rows, a two-tone version and a single recliner.

Comfort and Support Benefits of Power Lumbar

A lumbar support is designed to fill the curve of your lower back so the backrest follows your posture instead of leaving a gap. With power lumbar you change that support from the seat, so two people of different heights and builds can each set their own seat in the same row. Because the headrest and lumbar adjust apart from the recline angle, you can keep one position for watching and another for a long movie.

Power lumbar is a comfort feature, not a medical one. If you have a back condition, ask your healthcare provider what kind of seating suits you.

Power Lumbar vs. Traditional and Low-Back Seating

A traditional recliner has one fixed backrest shape, and a low-back chair stops below the shoulders. A power lumbar recliner adds an adjustment in the lower back and, with the power headrest, a second one at the neck, on top of the recline angle. That's three things to set instead of one, which is useful in a family room where the same seat is used by adults, teenagers and grandparents.

Seats without those motors can be simpler, and you'll find them in Home Theater Seating and Single Theater Recliners.

Buy Lumbar Recliners from 4Seating

You can start with one seat or outfit the whole room. Single recliners are available in Apex, Equinox (including BACKROW), Paladin and Pantheon, and rows come in 2, 3, 4 or 5 seats. If you'd rather have one piece of furniture than separate seats, the lumbar sofas live in Powered Lumbar Multimedia Sofas.

How to Choose Power Lumbar Home Theater Seating

1. Pick a comfort package

Every series here has power lumbar, a power headrest and power recline. What changes between them is size, layout and extras:

SeriesWhat it addsExamples
Apex CoolZeroᵀᴹItalian Leather in straight, chaise, console table and wedge console rows, plus two-toneApex Chaise, Apex Console Table
Equinox CoolZeroᵀᴹA slimmer frame, with BACKROW, chaise and single recliner versionsEquinox, Equinox BACKROW
Kodiak CoolZeroᵀᴹThe shortest full recline listed here (65"), in straight rows and chaise rowsKodiak, Kodiak Chaise
Luminis, Virtuoso, PaladinHeat and massage on top of power lumbarLuminis, Virtuoso, Paladin
PantheonBig and tall frame, 400 lbs. per seat on its specPantheon, Pantheon single
Cavallo Haven CoolZeroᵀᴹFabric or Italian Leather versionsHaven fabric, Haven Power Recliner

Weight capacity is per model: Pantheon lists 400 lbs. per seat, and Apex, Equinox, Kodiak, Luminis, Virtuoso, Paladin and Haven list 350 lbs. per seat. Our Big & Tall Seats page has more.

2. Pick a layout

On our product pages a row of 2 runs about 62" to 86" wide, a row of 3 about 90" to 126", a row of 4 about 117" to 164" and a row of 5 about 145" to 178". For example, an Equinox row of 3 is 100" and a Pantheon row of 5 is 176". Full recline for the models with a listed measurement runs from 65" (Kodiak) to 72" (Pantheon), measured from the wall, so keep tables and walkways beyond it.

Wallhugger seats need little space behind them: about 3" to 6.5" across Seatcraft models; check the model's Specifications tab. In this collection the Paladin needs 6" and the Pantheon 6.5". BACKROW seats sit about 6–8.5" taller than a standard front row of the same model, depending on the model, so check your front row's height.

3. Pick an upholstery

Most models here are Italian Leather, and the Cavallo Haven CoolZeroᵀᴹ also comes in fabric. Many models come in eight colors. Sample swatches are available for many upholstery options.
